Brief history and description
Caterham School was founded in 1811 as a school for the priests' sons, and since 1890 the children of the ladies are also learning here. Since 1995, the school has become mixed, joining Eothen School girls. By integrating the two elite schools, the traditions of education in the spirit of Christian values continue. The school is in the county of Surrey, in a perfect location, which combines the proximity to London with the tranquility and charm of English nature. Lying on an area of 200 acres, the campus is constantly expanding and modernizing. A new sports center, theater, festive hall and playgrounds have been built and art cabinets, information technology, modeling, photography, as well as the technology and 3D design center have been upgraded. In the summer of 2006, the new school corpus was finished, hosting 13 new scientific laboratories and a modern dining room. In 2008, the A-Levels high school classroom, medical center, school store, professional development centers and recreational halls were rebuilt.
Offering an excellent schooling, the school occupies an annual position in the top English school with a boarding school. The statistics indicate that many of the graduates are admitted to the UK's top universities, such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College, St. Andrews, University College London etc.
The school owns three camps on the campus. Beech Hanger House is designed for girls and is opposite to the main building of the school, near the sports complex. Townsend and Viney House are dorms for boys and occupy the first and second floor of the central building. Older students are accommodated in individual or double rooms, most of them with en suite facilities. Younger students are accommodated in spacious rooms with 4 to 6 beds.
