About the school
The school was founded in 1882 and is one of the oldest Swiss schools, a member of the Association of Swiss private schools and accredited by "New England Association of Schools and Colleges" and "European Council of International Schools." Brillantmont is an international school where students from more than 40 countries learn and has an impeccable reputation in the field of language learning and preparation for university enrollmenty. The official school language is French, so in the process of training the focus is on learning at least two foreign languages. Each discipline is taught by a qualified specialist with a solid experience.
The school is located in downtown Lausanne, in a splendid park of 15,000 square meters on Lake Geneva. The campus in composed of seven buildings and two sports fields. The convenient location provides easy access to most shops, post office and banks.
Brillantmont is a small community school based on friendships, where the family atmosphere reigns. The curriculum is structured in accordance with the possibilities and requirements of each student.
Students have access to foreign languages cabinets equipped with audio and video equipment, two scientific laboratories, computer room, library and photo labs. Graduates are accepted at renowned universities such as University City, London, Bristol, Durham, Greenwich, Manchester, Nottingham, UCL, King's College London, Royal Holloway.
The students are accommodated in 5 dorms according to their gender and age: Rousseau, Einstein, Piccard, Chaplin and Anker. They can live in single or double rooms, with a wonderful view of the Alps.
The meals are served at the school's caffetaria, the menu being based on the French cuisine and it includes vegetarian options.
The students can participate in the debate program Model United Nations or take part in the TEDx conferences together with other international scools in the area. Through the Habitat for Humanity there are organised fund raising campaign and expeditions to different countries where the students help building houses for families that live in underpriviledged areas.
They can practice voleyball, basketball, tennis, football, swimming, hockey, horse riding, climbing, yoga, etc.
The available creative arts are: arts & crafts, painting, photography, gastronomy, theater, music (the school has a vocal group and a rock band).
During winter, every Sunday is dedicated to kying in famous Swiss resorts. During holidays, the school organizes trips to attractive destinations.
Language courses during summer and winter
During holidays English and French language courses are organized. During the course the school organizes a variety of fun activities and trips. During winter the students can practic skying or snowboarding.
