Short history and description
Ardingly is a traditional boarding school, founded in 1858 by Nathaniel Woodword, founder of other 10 famous schools in the UK. Located in one of the most picturesque places in the county of West Sussex, in an area easily accessible from London or Brighton, it is the most favored of many foreign students. The school campus covers a hilly area of 400 acre and offers excellent study and living opportunities. On the campus grounds there is a covered swimming pool, studio theater and conference hall, tennis courts, squash, volleyball, football and basketball, running track, gym and gymnastics hall. There is a lake in the vicinity where you can practice water sports. College experience offers a new perspective in the life of every student. Exceptional academic results are eloquent proof of the professionalism and dedication of teachers. Students actively participate in the intereseted clubs and contribute to school expeditions in India, Kenya, Gambia and Ghana. Most of the graduates are admitted to prestigious universities worldwide, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, LSE, Bristol, Durham, UCL, Warwick and Edinburgh.


Accommodation
The girls are accommodated in three dorms and the boys in four. Usually, younger students stay in rooms with four beds, and older ones live in single or double rooms. 


Extracurricular activities
Within the school, there are thematic clubs such as Law, Medicine, Theology and Philosophy, Debates, History, Jewelry Design, Gastronomy and Photo. Over 70 activities that diversify and organize students lives are planned every week. Most of them are involved in different charities. Children's aid projects in Africa are held under the patronage of the Duke of Edinburgh. Among ambitious projects that the school performs, there is Ardingly Solar Project, designed from the passion for innovation and creativity which drives the students' skills and interests for the world of Engineering, Technology and Business. Students are exposed to unique situations designed to put them in practice their ideas and knowledge in the areas mentioned.        

  • Sports: students can practice more than 18 types of sport, such as: Football, Hockey, Rugby, Cricket, Netball, Tennis, Squash, Lacrosse, Sailing, Swimming, Athletics, Horse riding, Golf, Shooting, Fencing, Karate, Tourism, Badminton, Pilates, Aerobic etc.
  • Arts: the school arts has a wide gallery, four textile workshops, sculpture, ceramics, a photo lab, a library dedicated to arts and IT facilities. During the holidays, there are organized excursions in New York, Florence and Paris with the purpose of visiting the masterpieces of the World art.
  • Music: hundreds of instrumental lessons are taught by remarkable musicians every week. The repertoire is varied, and the program of concerts abound in events. Master classes are organized during the year under the direction of famous musicians. 
  • Theater: theatrical activities are a habit for Ardingly College, where there are two theatre studios and a scene equipped with the necessary equipment.  Numerous productions of various genres are prepared every year, from musicals and classic plays by Shakespeare to modern performances of contemporary playwrights. Originality, improvisation, innovative ideas and imagination are stimulated. Students participate in the creation and realization of performances, from designing decorations and costumes to lights and sound.
